Question by angelwith4faces: Windows XP 2 upgrade fails with ‘Access Denied’? Trying to upgrade from sp1 to sp2 and get ‘Access Denied’ error. A KB article says it is because my registry settings are protected and that I am supposed to reinstall with logging until I get to the protected part, un-protect it, and start over again! Access Denied: Cannot access registry key for tcpip?

Question by Tom J: Access Denied: Cannot access registry key for tcpip? Friend of mine caught the ByteVerify Trojan. He used Super Anti-Spyware to clean it out. Upon reboot he was unable to connect to the internet. He is using XP Home and his network status hangs on “Acquiring Network Address”. I ran cmd and tried ipconfig and got the above mentioned error. Turns out Super Anti-Spyware has been known to cause this problem. How do I fix it?
