How to fix an XP registry if I already know how BCD works?

Question by pepper: How to fix an XP registry if I already know how BCD works?
i just learned the binary coded decimal system, and this is what the registry language is in order to communicate with the OS… something like that i think. So how do i know what the registry looked like before it corrupted? I don’t have a backup of the registry keys. Is there a way to find out? Is the registry the same for all XP systems? maybe i can copy someone else’s registry and repair mine with it? You don’t have to answer all questions, anything you know could be helpful! thanks for your time. obviously i’m new at this, so these Q’s probably sound rediculous to you.

The registry is an iffy thing to tamper with. Better to get a prog like Registry Cleaner. I run this every day and it usually finds and repairs/deletes something. Your original clean Registry is on the installation or boot disk.
